I haven’t “tumbled” in a while, and not because I haven’t had anything to say or be inspired by, but simply because before this little “dry spell” I shall call it, I hadn’t made blogging a habit. And so, one day without tumbling led to two days which led to three and so on. So here I am again. Perhaps I’ll stay for good this time or I’ll flow in and out like waves.

I decided to start again today because I so desperately needed a sense of catharsis and writing has always done it for me. Last weekend, I had a jolting run in with my past that has forced me to re-confront many of the wounds I was left with from high school. I used to always blame myself for my insecurities, my flaws etc., saying that I had brought them upon myself , but today I am done with that. I am done with focusing on what is wrong about me and ready to start being fucking proud of who I am and taking that in stride. After talking to my very dear friend Kelly, a woman I often look to as my soul sister, I recognize it is no longer time to hide in the shadows or make excuses for what I believe, but instead it is time to show the world who I really am without any shame. It’s much easier said than done, but I’m always accepting of a challenge and this may be my hardest yet: to love myself. However, I also know I have all the tools to conquer what’s in front of me and all the strength to embrace the woman I am. Fuck anyone who has ever treated me like dirt. Fuck anyone who thinks I need to change the person I am, and fuck anyone who has ever made me feel like I’m not deserving of loving myself. I’m an incredible woman and I don’t care if it sounds conceded because it’s about time I start believing in who I am.
